Goofa Man Productions sets the Star Trek record straight in the third and latest issue of "3-D Pete's Star Babe Invasion Comics!" As always, Star Babe Invasion Comics salutes those gorgeous galactic girls from the groovy movies and TV shows of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s! In this issue, 3-D Pete takes a look at the retro classic, Queen of Outer Space (1958), starring Zsa Zsa Gabor! Plus, you'll find the usual assortment of cool comics and illustrations featuring retro people such as Raquel Welch, Marc Singer and Joi Lansing! But this third issue of Star Babe Invasion Comics is oh-so-extra-special... It is our savage "prehistoric" issue that focuses on retro Cave Babes! We have a special 3-D Pete commentary on When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth (1970), starring Playboy Playmate of the Year for 1968, Victoria Vetri! The curvaceous playmate appeared in several films and had guest appearances in many TV shows such as Mission: Impossible, Land of the Giants and Batman. In addition, we have an exclusive interview with Vetri in which she unequivocally sets the record straight about her involvement in the original Star Trek series. Countless web sites report that Vetri had an uncredited role in the episode "Assignment: Earth." The sites report that she played the human form of Isis, the feline companion of Gary Seven. This beautiful cat-woman is seen for just a few seconds at the end of that episode. Vetri, currently serving 9 years in a California prison for attempted voluntary manslaughter, emphatically states through a written interview with Goofa Man Productions that she never appeared in any episode of Star Trek. Sure, some investigative journalists expose graft and corruption at city hall. Others crusade to keep our most vulnerable citizens free from neglect and abuse. We just want people to quit saying that Victoria Vetri played the cat-woman in the "Assignment: Earth" episode of the original Star Trek series. You'll find our Star Trek investigative journalism excellence only in Star Babe Invasion Comics, issue three! "3-D Pete's Star Babe Invasion Comics!" is a product of Goofa Man Productions, the one-man animation and graphics studio of Mike Fisher. Mike has created cartoons and illustrations for Animation Magazine, USATODAY, Starlog magazine and many others. The studio also produces award-winning short videos. Most recently, Mike's documentary, Craft of Unknown Origin, won first place in the short video category at the 2012 International UFO Congress Film Festival. "3-D Pete's Star Babe Invasion Comics!" is a 24-page digest-sized self-published production with a color cover and b&w interior except for a fabulous full-color center spread. To get a copy of issue 3 of Star Babe Invasion Comics, just send $5 to: Mike Fisher SB Comics 510 Enchanted Way San Antonio, Texas 78260 If you would like to get the collector's edition first issue (featuring Devil Girl from Mars), plus the awesome second issue (featuring Barbarella) AND the third issue, just send $25 for all three to the above address. Arcana Comics - Erik Hendrix

I wanted to let you know about all of the books I have coming out!!! Only one of them is out currently, but all of them are available NOW through the Arcana site as pre-orders (shipping in a few months).

I'll give you some descriptions below, but the main thing I wanted to mention is that if you're wanting to help support my creative endeavors in any way, now's the time! You can order any or all of these books directly from the Arcana store by using code "ARCANAWINTER" at checkout, but only through the end of March! Links are below, but if you have any questions on them, please let me know!

Remember, use code "ARCANAWINTER" at checkout for 25% off through March:
The Book - Here
Champions of the Wild Weird West - Here
Deadly Harvest - Here
The Evil Tree - Here
SideShows - Here <-- This one is shipping now.

The Book - En route to Italy, a group of American tourists learn of a series of DIY travel guides, nicknamed "The Book". These unofficial guides are collected and updated with first-hand experiences by the travelers themselves. Diferent "Books" scatter the continent, telling of the best lodging, deals, and "off the grid" adventures from sight seeing to local folklore for anyone clever enough to find them. A local cult, practitioners of Sanctus Letum, the Holy Death, disrupts the American's plans for adventure when they hide pages from the Dark Book, Shaitan, in one of the travel guides. The friends are lead down a path of secret religion, death, resurrection, and demonology.

Champions of the Wild Weird West - The honor of a samurai, the mysticism of the Native American Culture, and a whole heck of a lot of Old West Action. When a fallen samurai is drawn to the United States to save his wife-to-be and her father, he is drawn into a plot much more complex than a simple rescue. Meeting up with an adventurer, his Indian financial advisor, a mercenary, and a former priest, they set off on a quest to save the West from the strange and unimaginable. Zombie Indians, mystical beings, and mad science are just a few of they must face on their quest to save themselves, those they love, and the whole of the Old West.

Deadly Harvest - Core mining, the deadliest job in the galaxy, draws only the bravest, or craziest, workers in the galaxy. Bumping up to asteroids, typically propelling at astronomical speeds towards distant stars, the miners harvest minerals essential to interstellar travel and commerce. Close quarters, dangerous conditions, and less than a half inch of polymer sheath stand between them and swift oblivion. When the Harvest Moon stumbles upon a goldmine dangerously close to a star, the last thing they expect to find is an ancient alien race preparing to hatch an infestation throughout the system. Armed with mining tools and sour attitudes, Captain Cyrus Layne and his crew must survive the horrors of space and an unfamiliar enemy to escape with their lives. It's Deadliest Catch meets Armageddon and Aliens in a dystopian future.

The Evil Tree - In a colonial village outside of NYC, Misha and her fiance, Daren, seek an escape from the fast pace of the city. As they settle in, Misha becomes withdrawn, suffering from bad dreams and depression. When Daren brings his friends to the house to "shake out the cobwebs," little does he know he is setting into motion events started hundreds of years ago with the original occupants of the house, the Willam Family. Not only did the ill-fated Willam family die in the house one cold winter, but the house has developed a history of female occupants committing suicide. The friends must solve the mystery of the house before the Willam Family ghosts pick them off one by one.

SideShows - In 1950's Las Vegas, the mob enlisted former circus attractions as their aces in the hole. These SideShows had a little secret... they really did have the abilities they pretended to. The Rat Pack was in their prime, the bartenders knew your name, and the same guy who comped your rooms could put a hit on you for stiffing him a tip. High rollers, lounge singers, cigarettes, alcohol, and superpowers. Welcome to Las Vegas!

Thank you,

GIANTS Comics--Dan Burke editor

It's Collossal and Titanic, It's GIANTS Comics. Magazine size, full color, 32 pages, $10 cover price.
Art and stories by Dan Burke, Chris Wisnia and Rock Baker.

Giants is a throw back to the comics of the 60's/70's....or more likely a parody of those times. It's a fun frolicking blast of adventure and color and comedy. Dan Burke has gone wild editing up this great book. The cover has something from all the stories represented, plus the screening of the color, the checkerboard pattern, and the rectangular box in the upper left corner, all take us back to an earlier time in comics past. The inside cover which carries over to the first page of the book sets the tone. Everything is BIG, and this book is going to be funny!

The first story is "The Green Giantess" by Rock Baker. This story is also like a flashback to the comics of the past, like an issue of Strange Tales. Not sure why all the lettering is so huge but that seems to be a trend in this book. Excellent coloring on this story-not sure who did the coloring here-- but it also reminds me of the silver age comics and how they were handled. This story ends pretty abruptly, seems there was more to come here. Continued in the next issue? Maybe.

The next story is "Fear of the Blue Giants" by Dan Burke. This story is directly inspired by the first story in the book. Not sure I've ever seen this done before. Wait, this is Dan continuing the first story! This is very interesting.....Dan expands on the simple first story giving us a "what if" continuation. Very well done. Does the lead character turn in to Duke Nukem? HA. Dan can sure pack a lot into one page as he does here in this last page of this 4 page story.

The next story "Gabba Gabba Hey!" is not credited but I'm pretty sure is by Dan Burke. He lets it all loose in this one, unleashing a monster of destruction. From the surprise start to the destruction to follow.....Dan is on fire here. I see such improvement in Dan's story telling here. His panel to panel action is easier to follow and he has developed his own style. I love the way he shows the action on pages 6-8 of this story. (and his use of blacks in the art shading.) I also like the way the ending brings us back to what happened at the start. Excellent work here, love it.

Next is "Doris Danger Giant Monster Adventures: Poo-Twah!" Now we are really taken back to the early issues of Strange Tales with the man-urned-into-monster story and even the art looks like Jack Kirby, though from his DC comics of the 70's style. I'm guessing this story is by Chris Wisnia as it is not credited though his name is on the credits, page 1. The art seems taken right out of some Kirby comics, or very inspired by them, but the story is a very funny take on those early tales. Great fun! I love all the little editorial mentioning of earlier issues like Stan used to do in the Marvel books! Oh, yes, Chris has his name in the last panel advertising more to come at: www.slgcomic.com

The last story in the book is "Giantia the Mistress of Bigness Battles.....Giant Gia" by Dan Burke. Wow, Dan put in a lot of work for this book. A labor of love here. This story is another (3rd in this issue?) story of two very giant girls. They start fighting and destroying an oil rig out in the ocean. We are introduced to "Deep Sea Diver-Chum Bukler" Ha! Great stuff here. This one has a funny twist ending only Dan could come up with!

There is a page of comic reviews, mentioning books by Larry Johnson, and Jim Main's Main Publications!

Last but not least a beautiful page with 6 Marvel parody covers.....I love this stuff! Fantastic Fools, The Assemblers, and Bulk to name a few......Dan could do a full Burke Age of comics! And he should!

I have no choice but to give this book 5 stars out of 5 as it is very entertaining, funny, and well worth $10.

Description

Henning Asbach is an SS officer assigned to investigate a series of grave robberies in the backwater province called The Share. But the assignment won't be as easy as he imagined, as the close-mouthed inhabitants of the Share seem to be hiding an even more terrible secret. Ringcat is both touching and horrific, a tale of a Third Reich that never was. It is in the form of a prose novelette, spiced throughout with elegant illustrations served in portions from the original Black Manuscript story.

Comic artist's work to be entombed in Poe's home.

http://www.weshuffor.com/

Comic artist's work to be entombed in Poe's home.

Wes HufforPALM SPRINGS, Calif -- A horror comic book artist from the California desert will travel across the country to see his art plastered in the home of one of America’s most legendary writers.

Wes Huffor, an artist who has drawn horror comics for a handful of publishers (including himself), will travel June 23 to the New York cottage of Edgar Allen Poe. There, an untitled piece of art will be entombed in the walls of the cottage as part of an effort by the Historic House Trust of New York City.

Huffor’s drawing took first place in a contest held by the non-profit organization. Titled “How Does Edgar Allen Poe Inspire You?,” the contest called for pieces of drawn and written art to be placed in the walls, creating a kind of artistic time-capsule.

Wes’ untitled piece features a Poe-inspired raven and candles drenched in melancholy atmosphere. The piece was commissioned by a fan at a convention in Anaheim, CA earlier this year.

“I really felt that using the image of the bird, with the candles, the empty liquor bottle, skulls and sense of being trapped within your own dark room was the right way to create the feeling of being trapped within your own darkness,” Huffor said.

Cabra Cini: Voodoo Junkie Hitwoman-Digital Visions #4

Cobra Cini: Voodoo Junkie Hitwoman (Sounds like a good movie title.)

30 pages of high octane comics in full color. The stories pull you in and offer plenty of plot and action. The art is very good with excellent coloring. Well worth a look! (And free to read online or download!) 5 out of 5 Stars.

PRESS RELEASE:

Cabra Cini: Voodoo Junkie Hitwoman makes her color debut in Visionary Comics’ Digital Visions #4!

New up-and-coming writer Sam Johnson (Geek-Girl, Gold Town) and artist Bruno Letizia (CLiNT Mag, Interferenza) introduce us to a bizarre new world of horror!

“Cabra Cini is a character close to my heart, whom I have big plans for,” says Sam. “There’s a one-shot already in the can, illustrated by Fernando Melek & Gaston Zubeldia, but this story--‘Voodoo Trespass’--is where Cabra makes her debut--and we’re thrown headlong into her twisted world.”

A world where Cabra, an ex-crack whore, has cleaned up her act and, for horrific reasons--revealed in Digital Visions #4--become a hitwoman. “But not just any hitwoman,” Sam adds; “Voodoo is a weapon Cabra employs--along with her array of blades and guns--and she’s developed her own bastardized version of the art: which she uses to dramatic effect in carrying out her hits.

“One of the ways she uses it is to access a dimension known as ‘The Infinity’--Limbo’s ‘crazy cousin--locked away in the attic’--which can serve as a dimensional gateway between where you are and wherever you want to go. Though, with what the ruler of The Infinity throws at its trespassers, the journey can come at a monstrously high cost, as Cabra--hired by bereaved parents to take out the guy who killed their daughter,‘playing vampire’--is about to learn…”

Digital Visions #4 also features:

Deity: The Darkness and the Light #0 by Karl Altstaetter & Robert Napton. An interdimensional war wages for the very fate of reality. Our only hope? A sixteen-year-old Earth girl. Can she survive the dangers of 2027 Los Angeles and avoid vicious aliens long enough to fulfill her destiny? Picking up where the first Deity series left off, this ‘jump-on’ story will introduce newcomers to both old evils and brand new ones!

Gangland Avalon by A. David Lewis, Michael Angelo Lee & Chuck Bordell. Sit in on a tense meeting with the Cavalieres and the Moores as they discuss control of the town. And this is a mob meeting with a difference, as both families aren’t just packing guns, they’re wielding magic!

Digital Visions #4. 30 pages. Suggested for Mature Readers. Available to read online or download FREE at http://samjohnson-comics.blogspot.com/

Dan Taylor produces some of the best mini-comics out there in the small press world! This mature readers issue is: Pork Belly Holiday Special (SANTA Issue!). Dan does his usual fantastic art on the cover showing a particular porky santa holding an apple. Porky Santa is warning us that this issue is for Adults Only! And that's a good thing he is warning us as some of the pages in the back do get a bit racy. Dan's intro thanks all the folks that have supported his work in the last 31 years! Wow. And in this issue we have: Allen Freeman (me), Andy Nukes, Brad W. Foster, Carrie Taylor, Dexer Cockburn, Hal Weaver, Macedonio Garcia, Ralf Schulze, Simon Mackie, and Vincent Wright! Whew...lots packed into this little Red cover, 16 page mini (including the covers). My only concern was that my old eyes couldn't make out what appeared to be some fine cartooning from Simon Mackie as his pages were so small to fit the mini-comic size they got too small for me to read. Love to see his work in at least a digest size or full comic size at some point.

5 out of 5 stars.....get everything that Dan Taylor puts out!

No Hope #5 by Jason Dean

No Hope #5 by Dead Dog Press, Jason Dean. Magazine size black and white with black and white glossy covers. 52 pages including covers.

This anthology of stories by Jason Dean has some of the most remarkable, detailed comic work I've ever seen. The time it must of taken, and the skill to produce this art is amazing. His stories leave you with no hope, thus the title of the book. Most end with death or some crazy violence that goes back to normalcy again. The Funeral is a story of what it would be like if we could say goodbye to everyone at our own funeral. Funnyface is just a series of images of a face that is pulled off like a mask revealing a crying skull face. "The Disturbing Dream of a Depressed and Overworked Designer of Pictorial Symbols" is an ingenious strip using symbols of a guy going through his average day, but after taking some drugs he is on a shooting rampage, chased by the police and eventually, suicide. The work of Dean covers some art styles similar to some of the best underground cartoonists like the details of Crumb, the jarring images of a Basil Wolverton and mix of a few others whois names I can't remember right now (Jim Siergey comes to mind.). Like the best of the best in art style. The real showcase is a very strange and twisted story "Let's Have a Picnic". It's like a cute little children's story, with find-the-hidden objects, fill in the missing letters, run the maze, etc....but as the family is on the picnic, some horrible things take place. (This book is for mature audiences only, for sure.). The cover shows the happy family before the horror and the back cover after the horror. It's like taking a Hilighlights magazine I used to read in gradeschool and turning it on it's ear and scaring you with it!

If you love extremely tallented art, and on the edge stories that could warp you....this book is a 5 out of 5. If you have a weak heart and are upset easily and don't need to be more depressed that you already are then you'd probably give this a pass altogether. Being that most small press readers like the unusual, they will really bite on this series.

Jason says this book is $5 which includes shipping, but since he is in the UK, that probably only means if you are in the UK. I'd contact him at: deanjason143@aol.com and ask him the price with shipping to be on the safe side. Or write to: Dead Dog Press c/o Jason Dean, 5 St. Dials Road, Old Cwmbran, Gwent NP4-4 3AN, UK
